Guyana eliminated from quarter-finals in U15, U19 mixed doubles

Guyana was eliminated at the quarter-final stage in both the U19 and U15 Mixed Doubles section, when the Caribbean Region Table Tennis Federation (CRTTF) Junior Championship continued on Thursday evening at the National Gymnasium, Mandela Avenue.

In the U19 division, the combination of Jonathan Van Lange/Thuraia Thomas lost to the Jamaican duo of Joel Butler/Kelsey Davidson 7-11, 7-11, and 9-11.

Similarly, Malachi Moore/Jasmine Billingy lost to the Dominican Republic combination of Alexander Perez/Yesmeily Guerrero 7-11, 9-11, and 4-11 at the same juncture. In the earlier round of 16 stage in the U19 section, Van Lange/Thomas defeated Jamalli Mauge/Mikah Stroude of Trinidad and Tobago 11-9, 11-4, and 11-3. In the prior round of 16 stage for the U15 pool, Moore/Billingy defeated Gari Whyte/Karecia Peterkin of Jamaica 11-4, 11-7, and 11-4.

Meanwhile, three of Guyana’s representative teams lost at the round of 16 stage in the U19 division. The duo of Krystian Sahadeo/Seona Barker lost to the Jamaican pair of Joel Lamm/Liana Campbell 7-11, 9-11, 12-10, and 14-12.

Umar Percival/Shakecy Damon was then defeated by Azizi Johnson/Tsenaye Lewis of Jamaica 6-11, 3-11, and 8-11. Also, Colin Wong/Akira Watson went down to Trinidad and Tobago combination Nicolas Lee/Iman Taylor-Edwards 11-13, 9-11, and 7-11.

In the round of 16 section of the U15 pool, Ebo McNeil/Samara Sukhai went down to the St. Lucian pair of Leshon Francis/Shatal Charles 11-9, 3-11, 7-11, and 8-11.
