Enmore man sentenced to 12 months imprisonment for larceny

Bhoula Persaud, a 33-year-old man of Logwood Enmore, East Coast Demerara, was on Friday charged with several larceny offences committed on residents of Enmore and the surrounding villages and jailed on three of them.

Persaud, who was arrested by police on April 19, 2023, appeared at the Vigilance Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Fabayo Azore, where the charges were read to him. He was arrested for five simple larceny offences and one larceny of poultry offence.

He pleaded guilty to two of the simple larceny charges and the larceny of poultry charge. He was sentenced to twelve months imprisonment for the three offences. Persaud pleaded not guilty to three of the simple larceny charges. Those matters were adjourned to June 25th.
