West Demerara win Farfan & Mendes Schools Cricket Tournament

West Demerara defeated Diamond by 12 runs to clinch the Farfan & Mendes Ltd Secondary Schools Knockout Tape-ball Cricket Championship, which was hosted on May 1st at the Durban Park Tarmac.

Batting first West Demerara recorded 61 in their allotted five overs. Christopher Persaud top scored with 23 runs. In reply, Diamond could only muster 49 in their allocated overs. Ashraf Ali led the eventual loser with 18 runs.

Meanwhile, West Minster defeated North Georgetown in the third place playoff to clinch the Star Party Rentals accolade. Batting first, North Georgetown recorded 46 in their five overs. In response, West Minster successfully overhauled the target, registering a score of 48/3 in 3.5 overs. Andell Austin top scored with 19 runs for the winner.
