Sidwell Sandy who finished atop the podium in the juvenile category at the recently concluded Independence Three-Stage road race, is poised to add to his palmares.

So said Coach and President of the  Flying Ace Cycle Club, Randolph Roberts who opined that the young wheelsman has a promising future on the saddle.

Roberts was impressed with the exploits of his charge, a 15 year-old student-athlete of Manchester Secondary School.

“I believe Sidwell has a bright future in cycling” said Roberts recently. Once he continues with his discipline, he will reach far” he added.

Roberts disclosed that Sandy started cycling after excitedly witnessing races passing through his home village of Kiltearn on the Corentyne.

Sandy aspired to be at the front of the peloton one day and got the full support of his parents, Shondell and Sidwell Sr. along with Home Design Engineering and Associates which assisted him with his racing cycle.

According to Roberts, Sandy will compete again at the National Cycling Championships next month.

He will be aiming to once again descend the saddle and climb to the top podium step and further bolster his trophy collection.
