Mibicuri man dies after motorcycle collision

A Mibicuri, Black Bush Polder man succumbed at the George-town Public Hospital to injuries sustained after he and another motorcyclist collided along the Black Bush Polder Public Road on Thursday afternoon. 

Dead is Navindra Budhu, 20, a security guard of Mibicuri, South.

According to his relative, Budhu had left the area on Thurs-day to uplift his salary and was returning home when he and Marvin Narine, 20, who was riding another motorcycle collided head-on around 7 pm on Thursday.

Both men were picked up and rushed to the hospital, after which Budhu was transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital, while the other driver remained hospitalized at the New Amster-dam Public Hospital.

Narine, whose condition was listed as serious as of yesterday afternoon, sustained a fractured skull and a fractured leg. Budhu sustained a fractured skull and internal bleeding as a result of the collision.

Meanwhile, in a separate accident last week Saturday along the Clifton Public Road Chandra Allie of Lot 4 Lesbeholden, Black Bush Polder, succumbed to the injuries he sustained.

Stabroek News was told, that motor lorry GZZ 7836 was proceeding west along the Clifton Public Road when it is alleged by the driver of the lorry that the motorcycle rode from south to north across the road into his path.

The driver said that he applied brakes and pulled right to avoid a collision but his effort proved futile as the right side collided with the right side of the motorcycle which then struck PHH 4070, which was stationary on the public road.

As a result of the collision the motorcyclist suffered injuries while the lorry and car ended up in the northern side trench. The motorcyclist was picked up in an unconscious condition by the police and public-spirited citizens and taken to the Port Mourant Hospital where he was medically examined by a doctor on duty and later transferred to the New Amsterdam Public Hospital where he was further examined by a doctor on duty and underwent emergency surgery. He was subsequently transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he died.
