A Corentyne teenager was yesterday remanded to prison after he was charged with the murder of a rice farmer from Number 57 Village, Corentyne.

Kevin Somrah, 18, a labourer of Lot 101 Queenstown, Corriverton, appeared at the Springlands Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Renita Singh where it was stated  that on June 12, at Crane Street, Corriverton, he murdered Pursoram Ganpat also known as ‘Buddy’, 25, of Lot 169 Well Rank Dam, Number 57 Village, Corentyne.
