Walton nets hat-trick as Marian Academy rises past Ascension

Marian Academy and Tucville were among the winners in the Georgetown division, whilst Bladen Hall Multilateral and La Bonne Intention recorded wins in the East Coast Demerara section when the 8th edition of the Digicel Schools Football Championship commenced yesterday.

In the Georgetown section at the Ministry of Education (MOE), Carifesta Avenue, Marian Academy mauled Ascension 7-0. Bradley Walton recorded a hat-trick in the 17th, 24th, and 39th minute whilst Justin Ten-Pow, Nicholas Jones, Kishon Shamsudeen and Jeffrey Yargil netted in the seventh, 11th, 34th, and 43rd minute respectively.

Similarly, Tucville crushed Queenstown 5-0. Sahle Butts registered a hat-trick in the first, 30th, and 34th minute, whilst Ryan Greene and Jamal Leomile assisted with conversions in the 25th and 60th minute apiece.

Over at the National Insurance Scheme grounds (NIS), Carifesta Avenue in the East Coast Demerara division, Bladen Hall Multilateral dismissed Plaisance 5-2. Xavier Ignatius bagged a brace in the 10th and 50th minute whilst Joel Lallman, Amanakeie Jack and Trevon Drakes scored in the 12th, 55th, and 59th minute each. For Plaisance, Maxim Leacock scored in the 28th and 60th minute.

Also, LBI dismantled Beterverwagting (BV) 4-0. The quartet of Anil Melville, Deshawn Dennis, Jamal Geddes, and Kareem Prince scored in the fifth, 36th, 37th, and 44th minute respectively. The event continues tomorrow with several fixtures in the Region #3, #5 and East Coast Demerara divisions correspondingly.
