Top squash players in action at Guinness Guyana Open

Most of the country’s senior squash players will be in action from today in the second Annual Guinness sponsored Senior National men’s and women’s squash championships scheduled for the Georgetown Club on Camp Street.

Over 15 women’s players will be in contention including Ashley Khalil, Nicolette Fernandes and Taylor Fernandes who participated in the just concluded CAC qualifiers in Colombia as well as Ashley De Groot, Mary Fung-a-Fat, Kristein Gomes, siblings  Akeila  and  Larissa Wiltshire, Victoria Arjoon, Emily Fung-a-Fat, Safirah Sumner and Malia Maikoo. The men’s draw is well stacked with players such as the inform and CAC participant Jason Ray Khalal, Samuel Ince-Carvalhal, Shomari Wiltshire, Regan Pollard, Nicholas Verwey, Jerazeno Bell, Lee Fung-a-Fat, Justin Ten Pow, Deje Dias, Alex Arjoon, and Nicholas Narine.

With the Caribbean Senior championships on the horizon, the players will be looking to secure places on the national squads for the regional event.

The championships will end  next Sunday with all matches to be played at the Georgetown Club.
