Queen’s College, Kwakwani to face-off in U14 Basketball final

Queen’s College and Kwakwani will compete in the Boys U14 final, following semi-final wins yesterday in the ExxonMobil National School Basketball Festival at the National Gymnasium, Mandela Avenue.

In the U14 section, Queen’s College defeated the Bishops’ High 12-11. Jaren Boucher recorded five points and four rebounds. For the loser, Malik Williams tallied four points and six rebounds.

On the other hand, Kwakwani dismantled President’s College 42-7. Simeon Sinclair tallied 17 points, and eight rebounds, whilst Marlin Mendonca added 10 points.

Meanwhile, Marian Academy will battle Queen’s College in the U16 championship match after respective wins in the semi-final section.

Marian Academy edged Kwakwani 44-42. Jaden Simon recorded a double-double of 21 points and 24 rebounds, whilst Marion Fiedtkou added 11 points, five rebounds, and four assists. For the loser, Keron Phillips tallied 13 points, and seven rebounds, whilst Shamar Sam added 12 points.

Queen’s College downed President’s College 35-27. Ezekiel Griffith registered a double-double of 15 points and 11 rebounds, with Owen Hooper chipping in with six points and seven rebounds. Adding seven points was Francois Myers. For the loser, Ezekiel Saul accumulated 13 points, 10 rebounds, and six steals. The event, which is coordinated by Youth Basketball Guyana, is also sponsored by the National Sports Commission, Edward B Beharry Ltd, and G-Boats GY.
