Four families from the communities of Good Hope and Lusignan, East Coast Demerara yesterday received keys to newly constructed, two-bedroom core homes.

The houses were built under the Ministry of Housing and Water and the Inter-American Development Bank’s (IDB) Adequate Housing and Urban Accessibility Programme (AHUAP).

Minister within the Ministry, Susan Rodrigues and IDB Country Representative, Lorena Solórzano-Salazar joined the families on the occasion.

Rodrigues said that the Core Home initiative targets the most vulnerable sections of society. She added that since the start of the project, the Ministry, being the executing agency and with the guidelines outlined by the IDB has been able to meet the intended target audience.
