Fisherman remanded over damage to property at Bounty Hall

Ramchand Rooplall, a 55-year-old fisherman has been remanded to prison on a charge of malicious damage to property at Bounty Hall, Essequibo Coast.

A release yesterday from the police said that he was charged with committing the offence on Sarran Lallbachan, a 25-year-old businessman of Hampton Court, Essequibo Coast.

The incident occurred on Sunday, 25th of June 2023, at Bounty Hall Public Road. The police said that the accused appeared on the 24th of July 2023, at the Charity Magistrate’s Court, before Magistrate Esther Sam, where the charge was read to him.

He pleaded not guilty to the charge and was remanded to prison. The case was adjourned to 2023/07/31 for disclosure of statements.
