Two children, ages 9 and 11, who were being treated at the Georgetown Public Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for the mosquito-borne dengue infection, have passed away, Public Relations Representative, Chelauna Providence, confirmed yesterday.
One of the two deceased youngsters was an Essequibo Islands–West Demerara student. He was a patient in the ICU for last five days.
