Sealy, Edward unable to stop WI U19 defeat in opener

DAMBULLA, Sri Lanka, CMC – Nathan Sealy shone with the bat and left-arm pacer Nathan Edward starred with the ball in an impressive new-ball spell, but neither effort was enough to prevent West Indies Under-19s from a six-wicket defeat to their hosts, in the first Youth One-Day International here yesterday.

Keisha Abrigo and Carlos Petterson-Grifith were adjudged the overall best lifters in the female and male divisions at the Raw National Championships yesterday at the National Gymnasium.

Powerlifter Carlos Peterson-Grifith  returned to the local platform yesterday and chalked up another top-of-the-podium performance at the Raw National Championships staged at the National Gymnasium Petterson-Grifith, lifting in the 105kg class, showed his strength prowess without the assistance of lifting equipment, with a mammoth squat of 310kg and a bench press of 165kg.

Powell fireworks hand Royals first win

BASSETERRE, St Kitts, CMC – Rovman Powell smashed an unbeaten fifty as Barbados Royals pulled off the second highest run chase in Caribbean Premier League history to beat hapless St Kitts and Nevis Patriots by six wickets here Saturday night.

Futsal final abandoned after brawl erupts

The “Keep Ya Five Alive” Futsal Championship final between Bent Street and Sparta Boss was abandoned on Saturday evening with less than seven minutes on the clock as a brawl erupted amongst spectators in the southern stand during the first half at the National Gymnasium, Mandela Avenue.
