Lusignan, Golden Grove and Tucber Park storm to huge wins

Lusignan wrapped up a convincing win strolling to 90 for 1 in pursuit of Enterprise’ 85 all out as the  Republic Bank Ltd., nationwide inter-club Super50 tournament continued.

Lawrence Pellew (28), Ravindra Samaroo (25*) and Robin Williams (32*), made light work of the run chase.  For Enterprise, Pardesh Kissoon took the only wicket to fall (1-13).

He had also top scored with an unbeaten 18 as his team struggled to 85 all out.

Neuron Bani, 4-8, Chetram Balgobin, 2-12 and Munesh Outar, 2-10, were the principal wicket-takers.

In another fixture, Golden Grove beat Buxton by 174 runs.

Batting first Golden Grove scored a massive 262 all out with Dominique Glasgow (97) and F. Mohammed (54) the main contributors while Kelon Stephens chipped in with 30.

Bowling for Buxton Reyaz Latif took 4-32 and T. Dick 2-27.

In reply, Buxton were dismissed for 88 with Stephens snatching a six wicket haul for Golden Grove.

In Berbice

Tucber Park Cricket Club (TPCC) registered a huge 173-run victory over East Bank Blazers at the Jai Hind ground.

Batting first after winning the toss, TPCC racked up 340-9 off 40 overs. Ricardo Ramdeholl top scored with 71, former national under-19 player Abdul Ramsammy made 58 and Dilchan Mc Donald made 49. F. Mingo had four wickets for East Bank Blazers, who, in reply, made 167 all out off 38 overs with Julian Benneth narrowly missing out on a well-deserved century by just 1 run. He top-scored with 99. Ramdeholl took three wickets while Leon Swammy and Abdul Ramsammy had two wickets each.

The RBL nationwide under-23 super50 tournament will continue tomorrow with matches in Georgetown.

GCC will face DCC at the Malteenoes Sports Club ground, MYO will oppose Everest at Camp Road, Transport CC will oppose the Guyana Defence Force at the Queen’s College ground number 2 and Agricola will play Queen’s College at QC’s ground number 1.
