Albouystown man gets four years for gun, ammo

Mark Shinner called `Six’ of Lot 145 Non Pariel Street, Albouys-town, Georgetown was on Thursday found guilty by Magistrate Annette Singh for having in his possession an unlicensed firearm and ammunition and sentenced to four years imprisonment.

It was alleged that on Thursday, 26th January, at Lamaha Avenue, Bel Air, Georgetown, the defendant had in his possession one silver and black Walther .32 pistol without being the holder of a firearm licence.

It was also alleged that on the same date and location the defendant had in his possession six .32 rounds of live ammunition without being the holder of a firearm licence.

Shinner was found guilty on August 31st after a trial and was sentenced to four years imprisonment by Magistrate Singh at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.
