Labour officer pays visit to Vaitarna Holdings

Martin Murray, Region Seven Labour Officer, Ministry of Labour, paid a follow-up visit to Vaitarna Holdings Inc, an Indian  logging company located in Region Seven on Friday, September 1st, 2023.

During his visit,  Murray engaged with all employees to observe the operation’s current affairs, particularly the working conditions for the employees and the numerous stages each operation undergoes on a daily basis, a release from the Ministry of Labour said. This includes determining the level of compliance that a company must maintain.

He also discussed the responsibility that managers/supervisors and employees must have in preserving a healthy connection between workers and employers, as well as a safe and healthy working environment. Brochures were also shared to employees to provide information on Minimum Wages, Annual Leave Calculation, Severance and Termination Conditions, and Overtime.

Following the conclusion of the tour, the employees express their gratitude to the Ministry, the release said.
