League leaders Beacons and Rivers View recorded comfortable victories when the Bartica Football Association Senior Men’s League resumed on Wednesday evening at the Community Centre ground.

Beacons downed Rising Stars by a 3-1 score-line. All four of the aforementioned conversions were recorded in the first half. Troy Dugan commenced the lopsided affair for the eventual winner via a 15th-minute strike. This was followed by a Shaquille Hopkinson effort in the 30th minute, as the Beacons outfit seized control of the match.

Hopkinson then made his presence felt once more as he slammed his effort into the back of the net in the 41st minute, completing his double. Rising Stars would eventually record a consolation goal in the form of Eon Gomes in the 57th minute.

Similarly, Rivers View swamped Ballers United 6-1. Andrew Simmons, the eventual scorer of a hat-trick, handed Rivers View the early lead in the ninth minute.

Nigel Alleyne responded in the 28th minute to restore parity to proceedings for Ballers United. However, any hopes of a competitive encounter were quickly extinguished as Rivers View recorded five unanswered goals, four of which occurred in the second stanza.

Aloysious Edwards restored Rivers View’s initial lead heading into the halftime interval with a 35th-minute effort. Upon the resumption, Omario Lake then crafted a brace in the space of four minutes.

He opened his account in the 51st minute to push the score to 3-1, before etching his name once more on the scorer’s sheet in the 55th minute to extend his side’s dominance.

Simmons then made his presence felt once more, increasing the lead to 5-1 via a 63rd-minute conversion. The result was completed two minutes later, as Simmons sealed his hat-trick.
