Christopher Henry of the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) last night electrified the crowd at the National Gymnasium when he stopped Shawn Rodney of the Guyana Police Force Gym as the Guyana Boxing Association’s Andrew `Sixhead’ Lewis (GBA) National Novices championships boxed off last night.

The light middleweight Henry produced a stunning knockout of Rodney in only the second round to set the evening’s proceedings off on a rollicking note. Henry, a sure crowd pleaser will be back in action tonight.

Last night also saw the return of the Republican Gym to amateur boxing in Guyana following a five-year hiatus. The Guyana Defence Force are the defending champions of the event which will conclude October 1st.
