Mwange Smith, a 19-year-old unemployed youth of ‘B’ Field Sophia, Georgetown yesterday pleaded not guilty to two counts of armed robbery and was placed on $150,000 bail.
The police said in a release that Smith was arrested on 2023/10/01 and charged yesterday by ranks of the Beterverwagting Police Station with two counts of armed robbery. No details of the charges were provided.
Smith appeared at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court #2 before Magistrate Alisha George, where the charges were read to him.
He pleaded not guilty to both charges and was later placed on $150,000 bail. The matter was adjourned to 2023/11/15.
