Chavez Alves, a 34-year-old self-employed man of Sophia, Georgetown was yesterday jailed for three years for armed robbery on Jennifer Goette.
Alves appeared at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court # 1 before Magistrate Rochelle Liverpool, where the charge was read to him. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to three years imprisonment.
Meanwhile, in relation to the same robbery, 34 year-old Witman Pollard of Lot 827 Cummings Lodge was charged with receiving stolen articles. He appeared at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court #1 before Magistrate Liverpool where the charge was read to him. He pleaded not guilty and was placed on $150,000 bail.
The matter was adjourned to September 19, 2023.
