Workplace safety workshop underway for public sector employees

The Ministry of Labour’s, Occupational Health and Safety Department (OSH) in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Service is engaged in a three-day OSH workshop with approximately forty-five employees from thirty-six government agencies and ministries from the public sector.

The exercise which started on October 4, 2023, via Zoom, is spearheaded by Senior Occupation Safety and Health Officer, Roydon Croal, a release from the Ministry of Labour said.

Topics covered are Introduction to Occupational Safety and Health, Workplace Hazards, Occupational Safety and Health Act, Joint Workplace Safety and Health Committee, Occupational Safety and Health Policy, Occupational Safety and Health Management Systems, Workplace Inspections Accident Prevention and Investigation.

On day three a presentation will be done on NIS Registration Benefits with an emphasis on Industrial injuries and Fire Safety.

Participants are drawn from Regions 1, 4,5, 6, 7 and 10.
