Sixteen BOSAI Minerals Group employees serving on the Joint Workplace and Health Committee in Linden, Region Ten were recognised on Friday for successfully completing a three-day Joint Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) and National Insurance Scheme (NIS) Training Programme.

BOSAI has come under severe scrutiny after an investigation into the death of one of its employees found culpability on its part.

A release from the Ministry of Labour said that the programme aimed to train members of the Joint Workplace Safety and Health Committee and prepare them to carry out their mandate in the workplace, as required by Chapter 99:06 of the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Act.

The release said that Hamilton praised the company for recognising the need of having a safe and healthy environment for their employees, particularly those in their professional sector.

This included implementing several of the recommendations issued by the Ministry in the aftermath of the ‘Formal Investigation’ report on the death of Neptrid Hercules, who worked at BOSAI Minerals Group Guyana.
