Urgent plea to open Little Diamond-East Bank interconnecting road to the public

Dear Editor,

It is now over a month since the new road built at Little Diamond, linking the East Bank main road to the New Diamond Road, has been completed. All machinery has since left the location. The road was initially opened to traffic and it brought welcomed relief. Then inexplicably, someone in their absolute wisdom, thought it best to close this new road by putting barricades which prevented vehicles from using it. Why should this road remain closed after completion? Wasn’t it built for public use? The Minister of Public Works is on record as stating that he is aware of the magnitude of the traffic problem on the East Bank and is trying to utilize all necessary avenues to ease the congestion. Yet, here is a spanking new road that can most definitely help to ease the traffic woes remaining closed for no apparent reason. This is an urgent plea to the Ministry of Public Works to let common sense prevail and have this road fully opened to the public.

Sincerely,

M. Abraham
