A man who allegedly attempted to murder another was yesterday remanded to prison by Chief Magistrate (ag) Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus.

According to what was presented in court, Cedric Smith on Wednesday, October 4, while at North Road, Sophia, Georgetown, caused grievous bodily harm to Lennox Barrow with the intent to murder him.

The prosecution revealed that, as a result of the injuries Barrow suffered, he is still unable to speak.

Bail was objected to on the grounds of the seriousness of the offence, the penalty attached, and also because the prosecution is in possession of a video interview where Smith admitted to the allegations made against him.

He was not required to plead to the charge and was remanded to prison.

His next court appearance will be on December 7, 2023.
