Tevin Imlach produced a mature batting performance for the Guyana Harpy Eagles in the CG United Regional Super50 match yesterday but his remarkable feat of scoring almost half of the team’s score was undone by the fickle Trinidad weather.

Persistent rain during the Combined Campuses and Colleges (CCC) innings led to a no-result.

Yesterday, at the Sir Frank Worrell Memorial Ground, CCC won the toss and opted to bowl. Despite Imlach’s outstanding effort, the innings was cut short at 177 all out in 48.1 overs. CCC were 86 for five after 15 overs when the rain ensured that no more play was possible. This is the third no result of the competition so far.

Earlier, in the Harpy Eagles innings Romario Greaves made early inroads, dismissing Kemol Savory (03) and later claiming Tagenarine Chanderpaul (30), both of whom were caught behind the stumps. Shimron Hetmyer’s struggles continued, contributing only 10 runs before falling to Abhijai Mansingh, caught at point.

Imlach stood firm amid the consistent procession of batsmen to and from the crease, crafting a superb innings that included four fours and a six.

His resilience led to his List A career-best score of 80 from 105 balls.

Kevlon Anderson, Kevin Sinclair, and Sherfane Rutherford (13) all departed in quick succession as Eagles continued to nose dive.

Despite Imlach’s heroics, the CCC bowlers, led by Guyanese Akshaya Persaud with figures of 2-23, restricted the Harpy Eagles to the sub-par total. Assisting Persaud were Shartugan Rambabran (2-27) and Abhijai Mansingh (2-48).

In response, all rounder Sinclair grabbed three wickets to keep the Harpy eagles in the hunt for full points despite Kadeem Alleyne playing a pivotal role for CCC, smashing 47 runs from just 27 balls, featuring five sixes and two fours.

However, persistent rain disrupted the chase, with Rambaran falling victim to Gudakesh Motie for 15. The match concluded with Dowrich and Persaud at the crease.

Sinclair emerged as the standout bowler, claiming three wickets for 39 runs from his six overs of off-spin.
