Even as contractors move  ahead with infrastructure works in sections of the Good Hope, East Coast Demerara, Housing scheme, the first batch of allottees yesterday morning participated in a lot identification exercise.

Yesterday’s activity made good on a commitment made by Minister of Housing and Water,  Collin Croal during a visit to the area a week ago.

The allottees were led on the exercise by surveyors of the agency’s planning department, and guided to their respective lots and boundaries, a release from the Central Housing and Planning Authority (CH&PA) said.

Last Friday,  Croal toured a number of schemes along the East Coast of Demerara where he engaged contractors and urged them to work towards their deadline in an effort to allow thousands of allottees access to their lands.

Over the coming weeks more allottees will be invited to participate in their lot identification exercise.

Contractors are currently working around the clock to complete the road and drainage networks in this scheme, the CH&PA said.
