Guyanese basketball players incur mixed collegiate results

Guyanese national basketball players Akeem Crandon and Israel incurred mixed results on the collegiate scene with Barry University and the University of Maryland, respectively.

The duo were both in action on Monday, with Crandon ending a two-game skid following a commanding win, while Yaw incurred his third consecutive loss.

Akeem Crandon registered four points and eight rebounds in 16 minutes as Barry University crushed Florida National University 100-34. Barry had lost to Nova Southeastern 98-125 on December 2nd and Palm Beach Atlantic 80-82 on November 29th.

Meanwhile, Yaw and his University of Maryland team lost 52-63 to East Carolina University on Monday. In 13 minutes of play, Yaw recorded two points, four blocks, and three rebounds. Yaw previously fell to defeats against Liberty United and the University of Notre Dame.
