The Lady Jaguars U17 outfit got off to the worst possible start in the return leg of their four-game U17 international series, losing to hosts Suriname 0-1 yesterday at the Dr. Franklin Essed Stadium, Paramaribo.

The only goal of the contest was scored in the first half by the hosts. The final match of the series will occur today at the same venue. The Guyanese leg of the series ended 1-1. Guyana defeated Suriname 3-2 in the first fixture but lost the second encounter 0-1.

The event was conceptualised as a means to provide international competition to the U17 female programme after the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) withdrew from the 2023 CONCACAF U17 qualifiers.
