A Golden Fleece, West Coast Berbice man is now dead after he was stabbed yesterday afternoon while playing dominoes at a shop in Paradise, West Coast Berbice.
The suspect has since claimed that the victim ran into the knife which he had in his hand.
Dead is Dwayne Byass also known as ‘Eddo’, 27, self-employed of Golden Fleece, West Coast Berbice. The incident happened just around 12:50 hrs yesterday at Middle Street, Paradise, West Coast Berbice.
According to information gathered, Byass and the suspect identified to be Nascio Allen, 26, were at a shop playing dominos when the two had an argument and a fight ensued.
Allen then reportedly pulled out a knife, stabbed Byass in the left side of his abdomen and ran out of the shop with the knife in his hand.
Byass who collapsed in the shop was picked up by his cousin and rushed to the Mahaicony Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. His body was examined and one wound was seen on the left side of his abdomen.
His body has since been taken to the Bailey’s Funeral Parlour where it awaits a post-mortem examination.
After the incident, Allen went to the Weldaad Police Station and claimed that Byass attacked him with a piece of wood and then ran into a knife which he (Allen) had in his hand.
He was arrested and placed into custody.
