Capital FC, Botofago, storm into UDFA Futsal semi-finals

Capital FC, Botofago, and Milerock recorded lopsided quarterfinal wins when the Upper Demerara Football Association (UDFA) Futsal Championship continued on Wednesday evening at the Retrieve Tarmac, Linden.

Capital FC made light work of Coomacka following a 16-3 win. Seven different scorers were on target in the rout, which was led by Andre Mayers, the scorer of a helmet-trick. Chipping in with respective hat-tricks were Mortimer Giddings and Emmanuel Atkins, while Orlanzo Thurman and Tyric McAllister added respective doubles.

Supporting them with one conversion each were Duquan Wilson and Felix Innis. For the losers, the trio of Rovaldo Williams, Dameon Williams, and Jamal White recorded one conversion, respectively.

Meanwhile, Botofago dismantled Aroaima 7–4. Amoniki Buntin and Jamaal Haynes recorded two goals apiece, while the trio of Jayshawn Moore, Omar Brewley, and Antwoine Gill netted one goal, respectively. On the other side, Linton Osbourne tallied a brace, with David Belgrave and Sherlock Phillips scoring one goal, respectively.

Similarly, Milerock brushed aside Silver Shattas 8–4. Colwyn Drake recorded a hat-trick, while Marcus Tudor tallied a double. Supporting them with one goal each were Rawle Gittens and Mickel Jeffers, while their own goal added to the score. For the loser, Omar Williams recorded a brace, while Deshawn Thom and Damion Williams netted one goal apiece.

On the other hand, Winners Connection squeaked past Topp XX by a 5-4 score. Nicholas Gentle engineered the victory, as he recorded an impressive five goals. On the other side, Rudolph McAlmon bagged a brace, while Travis Watterton and Jamal Bentick netted one goal each.

The event continues tonight with the semi-final round. Milerock will lock horns with Winners Connection in the first match at 20:00 hours, while Botofago will face off against Capital FC at 21:00 hours.
