Bossalina defeated Horse of the Year winner Spankhurst to clinch the feature race at the Sino-Truck Horse Racing Classic on Monday at the Rising Sun Turf Club, West Coast Berbice.
It was sweet revenge for Bossalina, who avenged the loss suffered against Spankhurst on December 26th, 2023, at the Port Mourant track.
According to a release from the organizers, the owner of Bossalina Deleep Esreepersaud said, “She came into this race well prepared. The jockey rode to instructions, and that is how I am speaking to you, as it’s nice to see your horse win. It’s very emotional. She will remain in training, and to me, she is the horse of the year for 2023 and 2024.”
In other results, Twisted Jet won the first race, while Game Changer won the second race. In the third race, which featured Guyanese-bred horses, Country Rock won, while in the 1600-metre derby, Firecracker prevailed.
