Young athletes from the Upper Demerara and Wismar/Christianburg Secondary School athletics clubs will benefit from the donation of gear from a former athlete of the MacKenzie High School.
In a gesture of giving back, Martin McDougal handed over some running shoes, spikes and joggers to Coach Johnny Gravesande over the past weekend to be distributed among the two clubs.
Coach Gravesande was especially grateful for the donation as he noted that athletes, especially the ones who run distance, would usually use the wrong footwear. He added that the footwear would come in handy as his athletes gear up for the upcoming season.
