President Irfaan Ali yesterday conducted a walkabout at Farm and Mocha, East Bank Demerara, as part of efforts to improve communities.

The Department of Public Information (DPI) said that at Farm, the president revealed plans for significant road improvements in those areas, as well as in Herstelling and Covent Garden, to accommodate the increasing occupancy in these housing developments. He said  that once an area reaches 75% occupancy, infrastructure works must be completed.

During the visit to Mocha, the president met scores of farmers and residents who had the opportunity to raise their issues and concerns. President Ali made commitments to assist the farmers and address concerns related to roads, water, and drainage, DPI said.

He was joined by Minister of Agriculture, Zulfikar Mustapha; Minister of Natural Resources, Vickram Bharrat; Minister within the Office of the Prime Minister with Responsibility for Public Affairs, Kwame Mc Coy and Minister within the Ministry of Public Works, Deodat Indar.
