Queenstown labourer chopped in head during argument

Thirty-two-year-old Leon Alves of Queenstown village in Region Two is currently in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the Suddie Hospital nursing chop wounds to his head.

Alves was injured during a fight which ensued between him and another resident in the village. The incident occurred around 16:30 hours on Monday at Queenstown masjid street.

According to information he and the other villager had an argument. He then dealt two chops to Alves head resulting into him falling to the ground. He then fled the scene. Residents who were passing immediately assisted Alves and took him to the Suddie Public Hospital where he was admitted.

The matter was reported and is currently under investigations.  The suspect is still at large. Alves is said to be a father of two and is the sole breadwinner for his family.
