An 18-year-old construction worker, Joshua Able Persaud, called ‘Jush’ of Lot 17 Suddie Housing Scheme, Essequibo Coast, Region Two, was charged last Friday with possession of a firearm without a licence when he appeared at the Suddie Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate, Esther Sam.
According to the police, the incident occurred on Tuesday, January 7 at the Suddie Hous-ing Scheme, Essequibo Coast.
Persaud pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Bail was objected to by the prosecutor, and the defendant was remanded to prison.
The case was adjourned until January 26 for disclosure of statements.
