Let proper collective bargaining begin and let the teachers teach

Dear Editor,

There is always less than meets the eye in Guyana; in the local parlance the teachers’ strike story has melody. Too much of it. Sensibly resolved, temporarily at least, by the twin SCs Stoby and Luckhoo, now it has become a cause celebre for Lincoln Lewis! How long before other usual suspects throw their hats and opinions into this latest Venn diagram of anti-government, anti-Jagdeo protest? GHK Lall has already planted his small flag on this territory. Let proper collective bargaining begin and let all of the nation’s teachers get down to, er, teaching students. Tis what they do best. Cut out the noise…

Sincerely,

John ‘Bill Cotton/Reform’ Mair
