Malteenoes set for three-match cricket tour of Barbados

The Thomas Lands-based Malteenoes Sports Club will embark on a three-match tour of Barbados tomorrow, according to a release from the club.

The tour, which is slated to conclude on March 21st, will comprise two T20 matches and a 35-over fixture. The Guyanese will battle Standard in the first T20 on March 16 at 14:00hrs, while the second match of the series will occur against Passage Road one day later at 14:00hrs. Malteenoes will oppose the Cupid Cavaliers on March 21 at noon in the 35-over contest.

The travelling delegation comprises Shaquille Williams (captain), Marcus Watkins (vice-captain), Cordel Mars, Jeremiah Scott, Delon Dalrymple, Seon Daniels, Totaram Bishun, Anton Lim, Adrian Hinds, Trevon France, and Shaquille Mosely.

Meanwhile, Felix Walker will serve the dual role of player/coach, while Kefa Naughton will act in the capacity of manager.

According to the release, the tour will serve as a platform to elevate the standard of the club’s programme as it competes in a foreign environment, adding, “This tour not only represents a significant milestone for the Malteenoes Sports Club, but also exemplifies the spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie fostered by cricket. As the team embarks on this journey, they carry with them the hopes and aspirations of their club and nation, aiming to leave an indelible mark on the cricketing landscape of Barbados.”
