Amalgamated Transport credit union under new leadership

The Amalgamated Transport and General Co-operative Credit Union is now under new leadership following the successful conclusion of their Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Elections at the National Cultural Centre on Homestretch Avenue on Friday evening.

A release from the Ministry of Labour yesterday said that the AGM and elections were hosted by Chairman of the Guyana National Co-operative Credit Union Limited (GNCCUL), Earl Morris, and supervised by Regional Co-operatives Development Officer of the Ministry of Labour,  Winneth Collymore.

The elections concluded sometime after 8 pm, and produced the Union’s new Committee of Management comprising: Colin Beaton, Curtis Niles, Roxanne Thomas Alleyne, Shelfraa Torrington, Annaser Hamilton, Ayanna Williams and Patrick Singh.

The following persons were elected to form the Union’s Supervisory Committee: Saskia George, Shawana Blaize and Olwin Fordyes

Officers of the Ministry’s Co-operatives and Friendly Societies Department are usually in attendance at AGMs of Co-operatives and Friendly Societies to ensure compliance and adherence to regulations as mandated by the Co-operative Societies Act, the release added.
