The Guyana Football Federation (GFF) has announced their 24-member squad for the impending FIFA Series in Saudi Arabia, with 13 locally based players making the final roster.

This was confirmed by an official release from the federation. According to the correspondence, the team, which arrived in London, England, yesterday and will arrive in Saudi Arabia today, comprises: Goalkeepers: Quillan Roberts, Akel Clarke, and Jamaine Cumberbatch; Defenders: Jalen Jones, Quincy Adams, Colin Nelson, Curtez Kellman, Jeremy Garrett, Kevin Layne, Amos Ramsey, Liam Gordon, Marcus Simmons, Leo Lovell, and Rashuan Ritch; Midfielders: Darron Niles, Daniel Wilson, Ryan Hackett, Elliot Bonds, Nathan Ferguson, and Kadel Daniel; and Forwards: Ryan Khedoo, Omari Glasgow, Deon Moore, and Stephen Duke-McKenna.

The Golden Jaguars senior men’s programme is set to feature in two international friendlies as part of the inaugural edition of the FIFA Series. Guyana has been placed in a group alongside Cambodia, Equatorial Guinea, and Cabo Verde (Cape Verde).

The Golden Jags will oppose Cabo Verde on March 21st before opposing Cambodia five days later. Both matches will be staged at the Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium in Jeddah.

The novel initiative, which was approved by the FIFA Council in 2023, will witness matches being staged within the six confederations during each even-numbered year.

The objective of the programme is to afford more international matches and interactions between confederations, which will aid in the overall development of the sport.

The pilot edition of the programme features 20 member associations playing in four locations across three continents. The other three hosts are Algeria, Azerbaijan, and Sri Lanka.
