DCC, El Dorado play to a draw

Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) and El Dorado Cricket Club (EDCC) played to a drawn affair when the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA) and Friends 2nd Division Two-Day Championship continued on Sunday.

Batting first, the home side were dismissed for 236. Jonathan Van Lange scored the most with 57, while Kishawn Silas and Brandon Jaikaran were the next best scorers with 44 runs each. Chipping in with 26 runs was Jaden Dowlin. Extras also accounted for 41 runs.

In response, the EDCC were skittled out for 170 in their first inning, handing the DCC a lead of 66 runs. Owen Andrews amassed 57 runs, while Ntini Permaul, Danesh Persaud, Joshua Ferrell, and Sachin James scored 35, 23, 19, and 12 runs apiece.

The Queenstown outfit built on their initial advantage as they recorded 167/2 in the second inning. Van Lange once again shone with the ball as he recorded an undefeated 67, while Nkosi Beaton supported with an unbeaten 47. Jaikarran contributed 29 runs.

Set a target of 233 for victory, EDCC could only muster a score of 66/5 at the conclusion of the final day. Lower-order batsman Carl Kumar top scored with an unbeaten 24.
