Mocha labourer gets two years for burglary

Neil Garraway, a 23-year-old labourer from Mint Street Prosperity, Mocha, East Bank Demerara was jailed on Tuesday for two years for burglary.

The police said in a statement that he was  arrested on Friday last and charged on Tuesday with burglary.

The accused appeared at the Diamond/Golden Grove Magistrate’s Court before Principal Magistrate Faith McGusty, who read the charge to him.

He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to two years imprisonment.

Garraway was charged with burglary committed on the dwelling house of Karren Sturge, which occurred at Mint Street Prosperity, Mocha, East Bank Demerara, between March 21st and 22nd, 2024.
