Timehri, Cougars seal semi-final berths

Timehri and Cougars secured hard-fought wins to seal their respective semi-final berths when the Easter Football Club continued on Saturday evening at the Paradise Community Ground, West Coast Berbice.

Timehri defeated Ithaca 2-1. Tyrel Khan opened the scoring for the East Bank Demerara outfit in the 17th minute. The score remained unchanged heading into the halftime interval. Joseph De Freitas then doubled the lead in the second half, as he etched his name on the scorer’s sheet in the 64th minute. Ithaca was able to record a consolation goal in the form of Gamy Solomon in the 90th minute.

The Cougars downed Airy Hall 6-5 on sudden death penalty kicks after full-time ended 1-1. Prior to the aforesaid outcome, Eion Abel gave Airy Hall the initial lead with a 10th-minute strike. However. The Cougars equalised in the form of Ryan Rose, who found the back of the net in the 90th minute.
