The quarterfinal encounter between Javed Khan and Gerald Scotland in the Open Division of the 2024 Rebel Tennis Club Championship yesterday was suspended due to poor lightning, with the score locked at 1-1 at the time of the interruption.

The match will resume today at 3:15pm, according to the tournament officials. Prior to the unfortunate episode, Khan secured the initial lead as he won the first set 6/4. However, Scotland responded in the second stanza, prevailing 6/3 to level proceedings. The winner of the fixture will face off against Nathan De Nobrega in the semi-final segment.

Meanwhile, Wayne Baker defeated Ricky Romascindo via walkover. He will battle Donnie Anderson for the spot in the final.
