On March 8, 2024, a contract for the construction of the Kwakwani Nursery School in Region # 10 valued at $71,10,738𝟖 was signed between the Government of Guyana through the Basic Needs Trust Fund (BNTF) and See-Solutions.

BNTF is a cyclical grant funded programme by the Caribbean Development Bank that aims to reduce  poverty by targeting the cause of inequitable access to quality education. A release from BNTF said that the current nursery school at Kwakwani’s riverfront experiences seasonal flooding which adversely affects teachers, parents and children. Flooding has caused many cancelled classes as well as damage to the school’s physical structure, furniture and teaching resources. After the school is constructed, it is expected that there will be improved access to quality education and human resource development services.

Present at the signing were Karen Roopchand, Project Manager, BNTF; Ajay Bissessar, Project Engineer, BNTF; Beverley Bunbury, Community Liaison Officer, BNTF; as well as the representative of the Supervision Consultant, Caribbean Engineering & Management Consultants Inc. (CEMCO), Amanda Persaud, Director, and the contractor, See-Solutions.
