Alarming deaths of children

Dear Editor,

First the siblings’ deaths were ruled as dengue-related complications.  In a sudden twist that ruling was retracted and the family is still in the dark, as samples are tested, following PMEs.  How clumsy.

Why the quick rush to make a pronouncement on the cause of their deaths when full facts were not ascertained? Was it to put the medical facility in particular and the health sector in general, in a better light?

It is alarming the recent deaths of three children in the Region.   An investigation no doubt must be undertaken into the circumstances surrounding the death of eight year old Naiomi Raghu.  So too the death of fourteen year old Malachi Moseley  of Bare Root, ECD.  Undetermined deaths, families in crisis.

My condolences to the grieving families.

Yours faithfully,

Shamshun Mohamed
