Two city men remanded over ammo in Region Five

Two Georgetown men were last  week remanded to prison after they were charged with being holders of unlicensed ammunition in Region Five.

Ricardo Marshall, 23, a construction worker of Lot 551 North East La Penitence, Georgetown, and Shaun George, 21, also a construction worker of Turkeyen, East Coast Demerara were arrested on Wednesday with eight rounds of 9 mm ammunition at Lot 15 Eldorado Village, West Coast Berbice.

On  Friday they appeared at the Weldaad Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Rabindranuth Singh where they were jointly charged with the possession of ammunition without a licence.

After the charge was read to them, both men pleaded not guilty. However, bail was refused and the men were remanded to prison.

They will return to court on May 24 for a report.
