High winds cause city outages

  The Guyana Power and Light Inc (GPL) suffered a number of outages yesterday when high winds accompanying the heavy downpours caused overhead electrical wires in the city to touch one another, causing damage to transmission equipment.

The Government Technical Institute (GTI) turned out 394 new graduates at its 62nd graduation ceremony on Thursday evening, marking a decline in the school’s pass rate.

Man tried to sneak phone to prisoner girlfriend
