Gov’t pushing ahead with plan for arbitration centre here

The growing oil & gas industry has seen numerous international companies establishing a presence here but there is no legislation for arbitration within the sector which is why government is partnering to ensure disputes can be settled in country, according to Attorney General Anil Nandlall.

New anti-absenteeism campaign locates 538 students

The Ministry of Education on Saturday said it has already located at least 538 students who were absent from schools for the recent National Grade Six Assessment (NGSA) mock exams through the launch of its countrywide ‘Operation Recovery’ campaign.

GuySuCo meets union on Enmore transition but major questions remain

Guyana Sugar Corporation (GuySuCo) yesterday met the Guyana Agricultural and General Workers’ Union (GAWU) to assure that workers’ rights would be respected during the transition of the Enmore Packaging Plant into the oil and gas support services sector, but only limited information was provided on the deal struck between government and developer GKB.
