Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU) ranks conducted a raid at about 6 am today at a house on the corner of Camp and Norton streets Georgetown and uncovered bulk parcels of suspected marijuana contained in two barrels and two boxes, a release from CANU said.

A 30-year-old male suspect is being sought for the murder of farmer Menie Xavier, 49, of Karaudarnau Village, South Rupununi which occurred about 11 pm  on September 8,2017 at the said village.

The Police say they are investigating a fatal accident that occurred about three this morning on the Met-en-Meerzorg Public Road, West Coast Demerara which resulted in the death of cyclist Kevin Richard, 20, of 73 Halley Street, Wortmanville, Georgetown and also the hospitalisation of the pillion rider Verna Wells, age and address presently unknown.
