Dear Editor, Initially, I had no intention of going to the Alkaline show for a number of reasons—the venue, some lingering questions about the content of some of his songs and some gender-based and personal safety concerns, to name a few.

Not even a silver?

Dear Editor, To date Guyana has not won a medal ‒ gold, silver or bronze ‒ at the ongoing Olympics Games now underway in neighbouring Brazil.

Dear Editor, Is it constructive, soul nourishing to harbour hope, no matter how fragile, that the geographical slice named Guyana can somehow, someday grow into a nation, a real nation?

Dear Editor, The Caribbean Voice is deeply saddened by the fact that political posturing trumped the need to save lives as “a parliamentary motion expressing concern for Guyana’s alarming suicide rate, quickly descended into a politicised debate marked by blame-throwing” (as one local media outlet described it).

The IAC will not be intimidated

Dear Editor, The Indian Action Committee (IAC) has noted the response by Lincoln  Lewis (SN and GC,  August 13) to the organisation’s  letter to the  editor regarding President Granger’s statement and the proposed establishment of the communal Lands Commission which is supposed “to rectify the anomalies and resolve the controversies which, up to now, surround thousands of hectares of communal lands which were purchased  in the Post- Emancipation village movement.
